Get started
Before you switch from an iPhone® device to your Pixel, make sure you have the following items:
Your fully charged iPhone® device on a recent version of iOS software
The charging cable for your iPhone® device
Your new, fully charged Pixel device
A strong Wi-Fi connection
SIM card tool, if you use a SIM card
Important: A Google Account is recommended. Otherwise, you can’t download apps, and some content won't copy to your new device.

Prepare your iPhone




While your SIM card is still in your iPhone device, go to Settings > Messages > Disable iMessage.
If you use WhatsApp for messages, learn how to transfer your messages from WhatsApp.
Important
If you no longer have your iPhone or SIM card, follow the steps from Apple to deregister your phone number from iMessage.
Go to Settings > FaceTime > Disable FaceTime.
Prepare your Pixel





If you are using a SIM card, you can use a SIM card tool to eject the SIM tray and insert the card.
When you’re ready to get started, make sure your existing iPhone® and your new Pixel are both powered on.
Tap Get started on your new Pixel. Then, tap iPhone® or iPad®.
Important
If you're setting up a device for a child, tap Skip. Learn how to set up a child device.
Connect to a strong Wi-Fi network.
On your Pixel, enter your Google Account password. Then, tap Next.
If you have a SIM card and haven’t inserted it yet, insert your SIM card into the SIM card slot tray using a SIM card tool.
If available, tap Download eSIM and download an eSIM from your operator.

If you wish to set up your Pixel without a SIM or eSIM, tap Skip.
Connect your devices


Tap Next. Unlock your existing iPhone device. When you find your iPhone cable, plug the other end of your iPhone cable into your Pixel.
If you don’t have a cable or only want to transfer some data, you can use the Switch to Android app.
Note
If you don’t have a compatible cable to connect your devices, you can contact Pixel Support to get a Quick Switch adaptor.
To continue, check your iPhone device and approve the connection. Then, tap Next on your Pixel.
Copy your data




Choose what to copy from your existing iPhone device, including apps, photos, contacts and more.
If you don’t want to copy everything right now, tap Do it later. You can transfer data after setup by going to Settings > Backup or copy data.
If you’re missing photos and videos from your old iPhone device, go to g.co/transferfromicloud.

During the transfer, you’ll be able to explore Pixel’s most useful features, like Gemini, your built-in AI assistant. To use Gemini on your Pixel, tap Use Gemini. Learn more about the Gemini mobile app.
Review the rest of the prompts and follow on-screen instructions to enable more useful features.
Tap any of the tiles to set up more features for your Pixel.
When your Pixel has finished copying your data, tap Done.
