Discover split screen mode

Swipe up from the bottom of your device and hold your finger on the screen.

To use split screen mode, unfold your Pixel Fold. Then, swipe up from the bottom of your device and hold your finger on the screen.

Tap the pulse on the device screen to continue.

Use apps together

You can use split screen to attach photos quickly to emails. From the taskbar, touch and hold the Photos app.

Select an app

From the menu that pops up above the app, select Split right or Split left to choose which side of the screen you want to place the app on.

When you have other apps open, they will appear on the screen as options for using in split screen mode. Tap Split right to put the Photos app on the right side of the screen.

Open a second app

You can now add another app to use split screen. To send Photos through Gmail, tap the Gmail app.

Use split screen to send photos

You can now use Gmail and Photos in split screen mode.

To attach a photo to an email, tap Compose.

Select your photos

When you’ve decided which photo to send, tap the photo to select it. You’ll see a checkmark in the top left corner of the photo when it’s selected.

Tip: You can tap multiple photos to send more than one photo in an email.

Drag and drop the photo

Touch and hold the photo you want to send, drag it across your unfolded screen to the body of the email, and let go of the photo to drop it. It will automatically save as an attachment to the email.

Send your email

When you’re done, tap Send .
